Reverend Bryan Plude
We called Rev. Bryan Plude to UUFC in May, 2015 and ordained and installed him in October, 2016. He is a graduate of Starr King School for the Ministry. His life experience is extensive. In previous careers he has served as an officer and pilot with the U.S. Navy and as a civil engineer, where he focused on environmental restoration. Bryan is a long time UU who felt tugged toward ministry for many years. While listening to a recently ordained friend preach in 2010, he realized that the environmental crisis facing humanity and the Earth is ultimately a spiritual crisis. This was the missing piece for Bryan and he entered seminary shortly thereafter, graduating in 2015.
Bryan has two grown boys and two daughters in college. He lives in Chico with his wife, Margaret and his dog, Penni. He avidly enjoys nature in a variety of ways including bird watching, bicycling, fly-fishing and backpacking.
Bryan holds an undergraduate degree from Cornell University, where he majored in neurobiology. He holds masters’ degrees in business from Webster University and in civil engineering from Cleveland State University.
Rev. Bryan is on sabbatical from September 1 through December 31, 2020. During his absence please feel free to call any of the members of the Committee on Shared Ministry with any questions, issues or concerns that you may have: Megan Johnson, 343-6159 or 966-0519 (cell); Angel Risdon, 415-717-6002; Mike Cassetta, 892-012 or 228-0466 (cell).
