Summer often takes on a different schedule and feel, but we all still need to nurture our spirits and our beloved community. We invite you to join us each Sunday this summer for either an in-person facilitated discussion in the Sanctuary or prerecorded worship service shared via Zoom. Check the upcoming services page for each week’s topic and details.

In-Person Discussions Start June 13

Hour-long facilitated discussions will be offered in person Sundays at 10:30 AM. As we gather around the chalice in the Sanctuary, a discussion moderator will introduce the day’s topic. Then, each person attending will have an opportunity to share their ideas or questions. We expect all persons to be civil in their discussions.

Attendance will be limited to 40 people while we learn our way into reopening. If you need transportation, please contact the church office and we will do our best to arrange for someone to provide you a ride.

We will follow these precautions to ensure everyone’s safety.

  • Our expectation is that everyone attending will be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Vaccinated persons can comply with current government and UUFC guidelines, which at this time means that social distancing and masks will probably not be needed. If someone has not been vaccinated, we will require that they remain masked and observe social distance. People are considered fully vaccinated 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, or 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine.
  • Everyone attending must sign in to facilitate contact tracing should that be necessary.
  • The social hall will be closed (except perhaps the bathrooms).
  • If those attending wish to hold a coffee hour following the discussion, beverages will need to be prepared and served outside on the patio.

Since holding these discussions in person is dependent upon Butte County remaining in the orange tier for COVID, plans are subject to change.

Online Worship Once a Month

Once each month in June, July and August, a worship service will be offered through Zoom or another online platform. Come for a variety of music, readings, reflections and sermons. We’ll resume regular Sunday worship after Labor Day.

In a recent commentary, Rev. Susan Frederick-Gray, UUA President, commented that we can’t plan our way through the coming months, we will need to learn our way. So, let’s keep in mind everyone will need to be flexible!
